Run Injury Free
We are on a mission together. Some want to complete a marathon. Others want to exercise with an enthusiastic group. Whatever the reason, we are training together, with a goal of comlpleting a marathon or half-marathon during the fall of 2008. Our injury-free program, based on a gradual, weekly increase in endurance and strength, converts atheltes of all abilities into life-long runners. One conerstone of our successfull program is alternating runnning with walking. This is a proven method for successful marathoning with the minimal chance of running injury . Ask your program director about his experiences. He started out like many of you by training with the Galloway method and completing a full marathon six months later. He has run for pleasure, guided newcomers through their first marathons, and both qualified and completed the Boston Marathon. The Galloway run-walk method works for all distances and goals.
